How to configure event T&C, require a card, and define the cancellation policy

Event Terms and Conditions

The event can require the buyer to accept specific conditions before completing their reservation.

OptionDescription
Enable T&CIf enabled, the buyer must accept the terms before completing the purchase.
T&C textThe full content the buyer will need to read and accept.

If you enable Terms and Conditions, the text is required. It cannot be empty.

Example T&C text

The attendee understands that tickets are personal and non-transferable. There will be no refunds once the purchase is confirmed. The organizer reserves the right to modify the program.


Required Card

This option requires the buyer to register their credit card even when the event is free. It is used primarily to ensure the attendee shows up or pays a penalty if they do not.

If you enable the Required Card option, you must also define a cancellation policy. Without a policy, it is not possible to save this configuration.


Cancellation Policy

Defines what charge applies to the buyer if they cancel their reservation or do not show up to the event.

Applicable scenariosIn which situations the charge applies: cancellation, no-show, or both.
Fixed chargeAmount charged to the buyer when they breach the terms.
DescriptionExplanatory text about the policy that the buyer will see (optional).
Cancellation deadlineUntil what date the buyer can cancel without penalty. Required if the scenario includes "cancellation".
Request last 4 digitsWhether you need the buyer to confirm the last 4 digits of their card to apply the charge.

Penalty Scenarios

CancellationCharged if the buyer cancels their reservation before the event.
No-showCharged if the buyer does not show up to the event.

Configuration Examples

Penalty for no-show only:

$500 will be charged if you do not show up to the event.

  • Scenario: No-show
  • Charge: $500

Penalty for cancellation and no-show:

Charge of $1,000 for cancellation or no-show.

  • Scenarios: Cancellation and No-show
  • Charge: $1,000
  • Cancellation deadline: August 14th at 23:59

Taxes

The event can have tax configurations applicable to the sale price.

PercentageTax percentage (e.g., 19 for 19%).

Full Example: Event with Card and T&C

A corporate gala dinner event could be configured as follows:

  • Required card: Yes
  • Terms and conditions: "The reservation is only valid for the holder. Identification is required at the door."
  • Cancellation policy:
    • Scenarios: Cancellation and No-show
    • Charge: $2,000
    • Cancellation deadline: September 10th at 18:00
